The Royals magical 2014 season ended with a World Series loss to the San Francisco Giants, however the defending AL Pennant winners insist they are not done. With a busy offseason by General Manager Dayton Moore; the Royals have another shot at the postseason.
Biggest Moves:
RF Alex Rios
DH Kendrys Morales
SP Edinson Volquez
RP Chris Young
Biggest Losses:
RF Nori Aoki
SP James Shields
BLEED BLUE, the fans are saying as a busy Spring Training is concluding. Manager Ned Yost is back at it again this season as the Royals are looking to make another splash. The Royals have unveiled their opening day Active Roster to start the 2015 season, and it shapes up like this:
With Opening day just around the corner, lets take a look at some predictions for this season:
Breakout Season: I think we are going to see an even bigger year offensively from Eric Hosmer, improving upon his 9 Home runs a season ago. Especially coming off a hot Postseason run.
Strongest Starter:Yordano Ventura, after a tremendous playoff performance; Ventura is looking to solidify himself as the ace of the staff.
Return to form: I think Kendrys Morales and Alex Rios will both return to some resemblance of their former selves this season and become capable power threats in the middle of the lineup.
Season prediction:
There is no doubt this team has the potential to be great, with the Strongest bullpen in baseball. The Royals look poised to make another splash this season and therefore are one of the top candidates for the AL Pennant.

Unfortunately, I have come to the realization that I must abandon my Rockies franchise, jumping blind into the OSFM roster and running a franchise without CPU roster control on, I could not add the necessary players to the 40 man.
My next franchise will be run as the Kansas City Royals, but it won't start for a while until I fix existing roster issues before starting the Franchise.

The Colorado Rockies today seemingly undid the move that made yesterday to optioned down Rafael Ynoa to AAA and in turn call up Christhian Adames from AAA. Today, however the Rockies optioned down Adames in a move to strengthen their bullpen from within by recalling Reliever Rex Brothers, Brothers who has problems with control in the past is back up with the Rockies to have a chance to strengthen the bullpen, there are rumors swirling around Rockies camp that Brothers may tentatively take over the closing role from LaTroy Hawkins after all 3 outings haven't gone as smoothly as anticipated. One of the biggest announcements of the day besides the recalling of Brothers was the adding of Top Outfield Prospect David Dahl to the 40 Man Roster, as well as the promotion of Center Fielder Rosell Herrera to AA.
Here is the full list of today's transactions by the Rockies:
4/14 Rockies
-Promoted CF Rosell Herrera from Class-A Modestp to Double-A New Britain.
-Purchased the Contract of CF David Dahl from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Recap: The Rockies take Game 1 of the series on the road against the San Francisco Giants behind some decent hitting in the middle of the order, however bullpen pitching continues to be threatening to this team's winning opportunities as LaTroy Hawkins had to be relieved in order to get the last out of the ballgame after surrendering two hits and two walks. Christian Friedrich continues to be one of the lone bright spots in the bullpen aside from Brooks Brown and Rafael Betancourt with his 9.0 innings of scoreless work so far this season. The Rockies will be back at it tomorrow, Probable pitchers are not set at this point

Rockies
-Optioned 3B Rafael Ynoa to Triple-A Albuquerque
-Recalled SS Christhian Adames from Triple-A Albuquerque
Ynoa had just one at bat this season, in which he grounded out to Second Base, Denver Post Sports Columnist, Woody Paige reached out to The Freshman Rockies General Manager this morning to weigh in on the move, The Young General Manager was very dismissive, feeling he did not need to explain every move. But he did say this, " Myself and the Organization feel at this time that the decision that was made was for the best of the organization." Some speculation has arisen that the Ynoa was not performing well defensively (No game examples to speculate that theory however), others speculate it may be due to an injury or locker room problems. Colorado will take on the Giants on Monday with Kyle Kendrick set to take on Tim Lincecum in the two clubs first meeting of this young season.
The Rockies are currently leading the NL West with a record of 4-2.

Over the hump now, we are past Spring Training and Past the Opening series of the Season. Last season is officially behind us and The Rockies can get back to pushing for relativity.
Our beloved Rockies Finished the Opening Series by winning the Rubber match tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers, there were some eye opening starts as well as some less than stellar ones.
Some Notes on the Series
* Morneau is swinging the bat well (More on that near the bottom)
*Arenado's slow start
*Tulo's Injury and subsequent Return
*Great series for Christian Friedrich
*Jordan Lyles shelled in Rockies loss
*Hundley's inability to throw guys out.
1. No doubt Justin Morneau had a great series with 2 Homeruns and 5 RBIs, not to mention he went 6-13 (.462 BA). He looked strong, but as it always goes we'll see if he can sustain it. Heading back to Colorado could help him continue this hot start.
2. Nolan Arenado Really struggled in the Opening Series at the Plate (1-11, .091 BA), He really hurt the Rox this weekend with his inability to move runners over and get hits in big situations, Perhaps a Return to Colorado on Friday for Home opening series against the Cubs will cure his bat.
3. A big scare for a lot of Rockies fans on Tuesday when Troy Tulowitzki left the field limping. Team doctors diagnosed it as Bruised Ankle. Many Including myself thought that Walt Weiss would sit Tulo for the Remainder of the Series to promote healing, but Troy was called upon in the Rubbermatch to deliver a clutch 2-Run Homer to give the Rockies the Lead in the top of the 9th. We'll see if he takes his rightful place at the starting Shortstop role back from Daniel Descalso for the Home Opener, My bet is he does. This team needs Tulo to win, and sitting him so much again will only cost the Rockies wins.
4. Christian Friedrich appeared in 4 Innings across the First and Second game and pitched all 4 Innings Scoreless with 5 strikeouts, he could be a key cog in the bullpen over the next couple weeks.
5. A big surprise for Rockies fans as Jordan Lyles got shelled in the 4th Inning of Game 2 of the Series and was subsequently taken out, we'll have to see how Lyles rebounds from this.
6. A concern for me this series was that Nick Hundley was 0-4 in throwing runners out against the Brewers, we'll see how this affects him moving forward but we could see Michael McKenry take a bigger role as a more common defensive replacement at the end of games.
These are just a few of the things I felt interesting about Games 1,2, and 3. All in all, a Successful series for the Rox as they had an excellent opening day, and except for a few misshaps, strong pitching.
Tune in Friday, April 10th at 7:00PM as the Rockies will take on The Chicago Cubs at Home for Home Opening Series of 2015.
Probable Pitchers:
Colorado Rockies: Tyler Matzek
vs.
Chicago Cubs: Travis Wood
